Stop by Tom Leonard's Farmer's Market
the First Week in November!

FETCH is thrilled to be the Wishing Well charity of the week at Tom Leonard's Farmer's Market. Tom Leonard's supports the Richmond community by giving a little to a lot of different, non-profit organizations through the Wishing Well.

Here's how it works: Every Monday, an organization is highlighted as the recipient of the coins tossed in the Wishing Well. When the week is up, the coins are counted and Tom Leonard's will match the amount penny-for-penny!


FETCH presents the first in a series of Educational Seminars!

Event Description: The FETCH staff is thrilled to announce that the first educational seminar of the fall season will be held on Monday October 6th , 7:00PM at MOSAIC Café. Come and enjoy light hors d'oeuvres and beverages while listening to our featured lecturer of the evening, Dr. Suzanne Causey, the Technical Services Veterinarian for Merial, Ltd. She will be speaking on the impact of osteoarthritis on senior dogs. Following her talk, there will be time for questions and answers.


Pretty Up Your Pal and Capture the Moment
at Canine Design!

Sept. 27th and 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Lil Pals, a pet photography company will be coming to the Gayton Crossing Shopping Center on Sept. 27th and 28th and setting up their portable studio in the parking lot outside of Canine Design. There are various packages available for purchase. Canine Design will be donating a portion of the proceeds raised to FETCH! Please call to schedule an appointment.

Bark in the Park

Henrico Humane Society is partnering with Henrico County Division of Recreation and Parks to provide a day of fun for you and your dog!

Come to Deep Run Park for the second annual Bark in the Park will be held on September 13, 2008 from 11 am to 2 pm and is FREE to the public! There will be a 2k 4 Paws Dog Walk to kick off the event, and all proceeds will benefit Henrico Humane Society!. . Hope to see you there!

25th Annual Carytown Watermelon Festival

The 25th year of the Watermelon Festival is special because it marks a turning point for this Richmond tradition. Every time you shopped at Ukrop’s and used your UVC card between February 4th and March 29th, 2008, you earned one Golden Gift Point for every $1 spent. The more you shopped, the more you earned! Points were automatically calculated and tracked on your purchase receipts. In May, a Golden Gift Certificate that details your household’s points will be mailed to you. It's a Pupularity Contest!

FETCH a Cure is leaving it up to you, the Richmond Community, to vote on the Top 5 designs. Litters of 4 or 5 pups each will be displayed and rotated throughout the Richmond area. This will serve as one of ways in which onlookers will have an opportunity to view, “first hand,” all of the 25+ Pups on Parade designs. An online gallery will be available May 1st so you can see all these precious pups and choose the "Top Dog".

Pups on Parade Gala & Live Auction

Kick off the dog days of summer while taking a BITE out of canine cancer!

On June 20 at 7pm, FETCH a Cure’s first annual Pups on Parade Gala & Live Auction at the Science Museum of Virginia will become a festive haven for dog lovers and canine companions of every breed.

Feast on gourmet hors d'oeuvres while enjoying the night’s emcee, CBS 6 morning anchor and host of Virginia this Morning, Greg McQuade.

Revel in the exquisite artistry of the pups, as designed by Richmond’s most talented artists. Honor Richmond’s Best in Show as the winner’s of the Pups on Parade contest are unleashed at last. Provide a permanent home for one of the 25 fabulous Pups on Parade during a live auction with Mark Motley of Motley’s Auction and Realty Group.

Live appearance and book signing with “Lauren’s Story: An American Dog in Paris” by Kay Pfaltz

Unleash your best in show outfit! "Dressy Casual" attire please. Dress a little bit dressier than you would for a business casual occasion. Her: blouse & skirt, dress, pantsuit. Him: Sports jackets with blue jeans/simple trousers, suits [ties optional].

Although the Gala is a two-legged only event, each participant will be sent home with a doggie-bag full of goodies to share with furry friends at home.

Woofstock [May 31, 2008]

A festival with a fundraising dog walk, food, vendors and amazing music at the Innsbrook Pavilion. Proceeds benefit the Richmond Animal League.

Bark-N-Bubbles

Bark-N-Bubbles held a fundraising event in Northern Virginia on May 17th to benefit FETCH. It was a dog wash that a little girl, Elle Taylor, and her mom, Lisa Taylor, put the event together. Some of Elle's friends joined the pack and helped to wash the dogs! As you can see fun was had by all. A HUGE thank you for your help & ingenuity Elle & Lisa!!

Three Dog Bakery Presents 1st Annual “Mutters Day Brunch”

Easter Parade [Sunday, March 23rd]

The Easter Parade has become quite a tradition in Richmond, and continues to get better every year. Local “Richmonders” have the opportunity to parruze Monument Avenue between 1 and 5pm to be entertained by local bands, art and craft vendors and the Easter Bunny himself. This year however, it is going to be even better, as FETCH a Cure’s Pups on Parade pup sculptures will be unveiled. Please come by the FETCH a Cure booth to learn more about Pups on Parade and how you can participate in its upcoming Spring events.

The Sixth Annual Dog Jog and 5k Run [Saturday, March 29th]

Sixth Annual Dog Jog and 5K Run - Saturday, March 29, 2008 - Robins-Starr Humane Center - Presented by Car Pool

2007 marked the most successful Dog Jog and 5K Run to date. Can we beat that? Yes we can! The Rosebud's K-9 Kreations Vendor Fair will be back, along with our annual 5K Run, timed by Richmond Road Runners Club, and our fun, pet-friendly one-mile Dog Jog.

A "Dress Up Your Dog and Jog" contest, sponsored by the Richmond Times-Dispatch, will award prizes for the pooches and owners with the most creative and fun costumes at the Dog Jog!
